The best ways to share AI skills with a team (2026)

The best way to share AI skills depends on where your team works: Claude Team or ChatGPT Business if everyone is on one of those company plans, a Git repository if everyone uses coding agents, and a shared skill library over MCP if people use different AI tools or their own accounts. AI Skill Pod is that library for non-engineer teams, reached from Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode through one link.

Short answer

  • Everyone on Claude Team or Enterprise: share or publish in Claude.
  • Everyone on ChatGPT Business or Enterprise: share in ChatGPT.
  • Engineers only: a Git repository of skill folders.
  • Mixed tools, personal accounts, or contractors: a library over MCP, such as AI Skill Pod or Agentman.

1. AI Skill Pod: one pod for mixed teams

Built for a startup team where the designer uses Claude Pro, the marketer uses ChatGPT, the engineers use Cursor and Codex, and a freelancer has a personal account. One invite link brings each of them in, personal emails included. Each adds one MCP link to their AI. You create skills by pasting a doc or by saying "make this a team skill" in a chat; edits are proposed in chat and approved in one click, and you see who used which skill.

In ChatGPT it connects on Pro, Business, and Enterprise through a custom MCP connector or developer mode, and on Plus where your plan allows custom connectors. It doesn't hide a skill's text from members. It has a Free plan: start free.

2. Claude Team or Enterprise: everyone in Claude

Share a skill with colleagues, publish it to the organization's library, or have an owner provision it for everyone. It's built in and costs nothing beyond the seats. It stops at your organization's edge and at Claude. Details in AI Skill Pod vs Claude Team.

3. ChatGPT Business or Enterprise: everyone in ChatGPT

Skills can be shared with people, groups, or the workspace library, and admins see users and invocations. Plus and Pro aren't on the list. Owners on the OpenAI forum report recipients who can't open shared skills and no way to reach people outside the workspace. Details in AI Skill Pod vs ChatGPT Business.

4. Agentman: per-skill access levels

A hosted skill library over MCP, with Use, Read, Edit, and Admin per skill, versions, and use-only skills. Members in Claude connect from the Connectors Directory; in other tools they paste a connector URL. Details in AI Skill Pod vs Agentman.

5. Notion skills: teams that live in Notion

Skills for Notion AI on Business and Enterprise, with a 28-day usage count. No approval step, and copies sent to local agents are marked out of date when the skill changes. Details in AI Skill Pod vs Notion skills.

6. A Git repository: engineers only

Keep each skill as a folder in a repository. Claude Code reads .claude/skills, Codex reads .agents/skills, Cursor reads both plus .cursor/skills, and OpenCode reads .opencode/skills, .claude/skills, and .agents/skills. It's free and versioned. Chat apps can't read a repository, and non-engineers rarely pull. The sync guide covers the folders.

7. ZIP files: fine for one skill, once

Make the file with the free Doc to SKILL.md converter, send it, and each person uploads it. Every change means sending it again, and nobody knows who has which version.

Questions

What's the cheapest way to share AI skills with a small team?

Free: a shared folder or a Git repository, if everyone is comfortable copying files and pulling updates. Among hosted tools for up to 3 people, AI Skill Pod's Free plan and Agentman's free plan cost nothing.

How do I stop skill versions drifting when teammates upload ZIP files?

Keep one copy that everyone reads instead of many uploaded copies. Git does it for coding agents; a hosted library reached over MCP (AI Skill Pod, Agentman, or Notion's MCP server) does it for chat apps too.

How do I share skills with coworkers who don't use GitHub?

Use a library their AI connects to: Claude Team or ChatGPT Business if everyone is on that plan, or AI Skill Pod if they use different AI tools or their own accounts.
