Comparison
AI Skill Pod vs Notion skills: which fits a team that works in Claude and ChatGPT?
Notion skills are reusable instructions for Notion AI, available on Notion's Business and Enterprise plans ($24 per seat billed monthly). AI Skill Pod is for teams that work in Claude, ChatGPT, and coding agents rather than in Notion: one MCP link for six AI tools, one invite link that takes personal emails, and edits approved in one click, from $5 per seat.
Short answer
- Stay with Notion skills if your team already pays for Notion Business and does most of its AI work inside Notion.
- Use AI Skill Pod if people use their own Claude or ChatGPT, if contractors need the skills, or if you want a change approved before it reaches everyone.

Where Notion skills fit and where they don't
Every member pays for Business
Skills came to Business and Enterprise in March 2026. A five-person team pays 5 × $24 = $120 a month for Notion Business. If the team already uses Notion for its docs, that money is spent anyway. If you only want shared AI skills, it's a lot of Notion to buy.
Guests have limits
Contractors often join a Notion workspace as guests. Notion's help pages say guests can't use Notion AI through its Slack and Teams connectors and can't create Custom Agents; Notion suggests adding someone as a member when they need AI. A member seat on Business costs the same as anyone else's.
Copies outside Notion go stale
Notion's desktop app can send a copy of a skill to a local agent. When the skill changes in Notion, that copy is marked out of date, and the person has to fetch it again. Agents on Notion's MCP server load skills at the start of each session instead. Notion's help page allows up to 200 skills turned on and 50 loaded per agent per session; its developer docs say the MCP tool that lists enabled skills returns at most 30 and has no paging.
No approvals
Anyone who can edit a skill changes it for everyone, with no review step. Notion does show usage: a Uses column covers 28 days, MCP use included.
How AI Skill Pod handles the same jobs
- Each person keeps their own AI. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode reach the pod's skills through one MCP link. In ChatGPT that works on Pro, Business, and Enterprise through a custom MCP connector or developer mode, and on Plus where your plan allows custom connectors.
- Contractors are members. Send one invite link; personal emails are welcome.
- No copies to update. Everyone reads the same skill through the link.
- Changes are approved. An edit is proposed in chat and approved in one click. On Business, edits to a skill can require approval. You see who used which skill.
- Start from your Notion pages. Paste a page's text to create a skill, or try the free Doc to SKILL.md converter first.
AI Skill Pod doesn't hide a skill's text from the members who use it, and neither does Notion.
Cost for a team of 5
- Notion Business: 5 × $24 = $120 a month billed monthly, or $100 a month billed yearly. This includes all of Notion, not only skills.
- AI Skill Pod Team: 5 × $5 a month. Business, with approvals for skill edits, is $75 a month for 5.

Questions
Can I use Notion skills in Claude or ChatGPT?
Partly. Agents connected over Notion's MCP server can load your skills at the start of a session, and the desktop app can send a copy of a skill to a local agent. The copy is marked out of date when the skill changes in Notion, so someone has to send it again.
Does Notion show who used a skill?
Yes. Notion's skills page has a Uses column covering 28 days, MCP use included.
Do I need Notion Business for skills?
Notion's release note of 20 March 2026 says skills are available on Business and Enterprise. Business is $24 per seat billed monthly, or $20 billed yearly.
