Comparison
AI Skill Pod vs ChatGPT Business skills: sharing with your team and your clients
ChatGPT skills can be shared with people in your workspace, but only on Business, Enterprise, Healthcare, and Edu plans, and not with clients or contractors outside it. AI Skill Pod shares the same skills with anyone you invite by link, in ChatGPT and in Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode, from $5 per seat.
Short answer
- Use ChatGPT Business skills if everyone who needs the skill is in your workspace and works only in ChatGPT.
- Use AI Skill Pod if you serve clients or students outside the workspace, if teammates use Claude or a coding agent, or if your custom GPT lost its link sharing in the move to plugins.

What ChatGPT Business gives you
- Skills you upload from your computer or build in ChatGPT.
- Sharing with people or groups, by a share link, or by publishing to the workspace library.
- An admin view: admins can download a skill and see its users and invocations over 30 days.
This is a good fit for a company where everyone has a seat and works in ChatGPT.
Where owners get stuck
Sharing that reports success but doesn't arrive
In an October thread on the OpenAI forum, a Business owner reports that sharing a skill says it worked, yet the recipients can't open it. The workaround was sending ZIP files by hand, with duplicates everywhere.
Migrated GPTs that turned private
Custom GPTs retire on 11 December 2026, and plugins replace them. Owners report that a migrated GPT became a private plugin with Share greyed out, and staff lost the tool they used (forum thread).
Nobody outside the workspace
Consultants, agencies, and teachers report that people outside a Business workspace can't open its shared GPTs (forum thread). Adding each client as a paid seat isn't a plan most of them can sell.
ChatGPT only
A skill in ChatGPT Business doesn't reach a teammate who works in Claude or Cursor.
How AI Skill Pod does it
- One invite link for your team, contractors, and clients. Personal emails are welcome.
- One MCP link for ChatGPT and five other AI tools. In ChatGPT, it connects on Pro, Business, and Enterprise through a custom MCP connector or developer mode, and on Plus where your plan allows custom connectors. On Business, ChatGPT lets only admins and owners create custom MCP connections.
- Bring your GPT. Paste its instructions and conversation starters into the free GPT to skill converter, or paste a doc to create a skill.
- Edits approved in one click, and a record of who used which skill.
AI Skill Pod doesn't hide a skill's text from the people who use it. If you sell your prompt and need it unreadable, this isn't the tool for that.
Cost for a team of 5
- ChatGPT Business: 5 × $25 = $125 a month on monthly billing. Each outside client would need a seat.
- AI Skill Pod Team: 5 × $5 a month, on top of whatever AI plan each person already has.

Questions
How do I share a ChatGPT plugin or skill with people outside my Business workspace?
ChatGPT shares skills with people and groups in the workspace, by a share link, or through the workspace library. Owners on the OpenAI forum report that people outside the workspace can't open shared GPTs or plugins. AI Skill Pod invites anyone by link, personal emails included.
Can ChatGPT Plus users use a shared skill?
ChatGPT's skills page lists Business, Enterprise, Healthcare, and Edu, not Plus. AI Skill Pod reaches ChatGPT through a custom MCP connector; on Plus, that works where your plan allows custom connectors. See sharing ChatGPT skills without Business.
What replaces custom GPTs after 11 December 2026?
OpenAI's FAQ names plugins: a migrated GPT's instructions become a skill, and its apps carry over. Custom actions must be rebuilt. See how to keep sharing your GPT.
